1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione
Gooding Christie's · Lot 135 · Saturday, August 15, 2026
Description
This 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione is one of 20 Comp/61 "SEFAC Hot Rod" examples — the most developed evolution of the SWB before the 250 GTO — factory-prepared with the lightweight Tipo 539/61 chassis, Testa Rossa-type cylinder heads, and magnesium castings. It debuted at the 1961 Le Mans Test Weekend with Parkes, Tavano, and Schlesser, recording the fastest GT time, and later ran the 1967 Targa Florio. Restored in 1983 to Comp/61 specification and campaigned extensively at the Goodwood Revival, Tour Auto, and Le Mans Classic, it is offered with an FIA Historic Technical Passport and Marcel Massini report.
