Car Market Insider's auction guide is a small, independently run editorial site. We do not run analytics, we do not set tracking or advertising cookies, we do not collect email addresses, and we do not sell or share data with data brokers. You can read every page of this guide without giving us anything.

Nothing personal. There is no sign-up, no newsletter form, no comment system and no contact form on the public guide. We do not operate an analytics or advertising tag of any kind on these pages.

As with any website, our hosting provider processes standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser user agent and requested URL) in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We do not use that data to build profiles of readers.

The public guide does not set tracking cookies. The only browser storage used on this site is localStorage, and only for the private editorial admin area: when a member of our team signs in, their login session is stored in localStorage on their own device. localStorage is not a cookie — it is not transmitted with requests and is not readable by other sites.

Because there is no tracking, there is no cookie consent banner to click through.

Accounts exist only for Car Market Insider editorial staff, who sign in to publish and correct lot data. Those accounts store an email address and authentication data with our backend provider. There are no reader accounts.

Our database holds editorial content only: auction lots, estimates, sale results, images sourced from auction house listings, tier definitions, fee schedules and site copy. It contains no reader data.

We rely on hosting and backend infrastructure providers to serve this site and store editorial content, and on an email provider for transactional messages to editorial staff. Lot images and data are sourced from the auction houses' own public listings. We do not embed third-party advertising or social tracking pixels.
